TBSK TRAINING DAY: LIVIN' ON THE EDGE
EVENT DETAILS:
Instructors: Jill Lingard (352-665-1776) and Scott Jantz (386-853-5159).
Description: Work off that extra helping of pumpkin pie by tuning up your turning strokes! One thing they all have in common is an EDGE. We'll first practice some braces so that folks can keep themselves upright if they creep a bit over their edge. Then we'll see how edging helps to make sweeps, pivots, low brace turns, and rudder strokes more efficient and effective. As time and group interest allows, we can explore a bit of the bay and mangroves around EG Simmons Park, employing edges on the move.
Location: EG Simmons Park, located at 2401 19th Avenue NW in Ruskin. There is a $2 entrance fee per vehicle. Park near the kayak launch.
Schedule: Sunday, November 29. Meet at 9:00 AM, unload boats and gear, and be ready to start class by 9:30. We should finish up around 11:30-12:00.
