NEW YEARS DAY ANCLOTE PADDLE - LEVEL 2
Trip leaders: Scott Jantz (scottjantz2@gmail.com, 386-853-5159) and Jill Lingard (jill.lingard@gmail.com, 352-665-1776)
Description: Let's ring in 2026 on the water! We'll paddle from Anclote River Park out into the Gulf towards the south end of Anclote Key. We can take a break on the island, explore, practice rolls or rescues (if it's not too chilly), and have a snack before paddling back.
Location: Anclote River Park, 1119 Baillies Bluff Road in Holiday
Schedule: Thursday, January 1st. Meet at 9:30AM for a 10:00 launch. We’ll return around 12:00-12:30 to meet the other group for lunch.
Additional information: Bring lunch for a post-paddle picnic. The picnic shelter cannot be reserved, so bring a camp chair in case we can’t get space in the pavilion.
Difficulty: Level 2. This is a mostly open water paddle of about 8-9 miles, depending how much of Anclote Key we decide to explore. Review TBSK's Skills Self-Assessment Chart and contact trip leaders with any questions.
