Northern Spoils and Honeymoon Island
Level 2 or 2+ for distance, wind and weather
Meet at Dunedin Causeway beach at 9:00AM, launch at 9:30 AM, just west of the High and Dry Grill. Low tide at 8:30 AM, 2 ft. High tide at 2:45 PM
We will paddle under the Causeway bridge and head north past 6 of the spoil islands, take a break then head west to the northern tip of Honeymoon Island. Depending on the weather we will return back to the launch on the Gulf side or the east side of Honeymoon. This is about 10 1/2 miles with an open water crossing and possible chop in the Gulf.
Required min 15’ kayak with sealed hatches, PFDs worn with spray skirt. Bring snacks and plenty of water.
