Description:
Let’s explore the mangroves of Robinson Preserve kayak trail in Northwest Bradenton then head into Palma Sola Bay.
Robinson Preserve
is a scenic coastal preserve that spans over 600 acres, offering visitors a blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. Located in Northwest Bradenton, it features a diverse ecosystem of mangroves, salt marshes, tidal creeks, and coastal wetlands, which provide a habitat for a wide array of wildlife, including birds, fish, and native plants.
After the paddle, you can rinse your boat at the take-out before loading it on your vehicle. Then, we’ll meet in the picnic shelter just off the parking lot. Make sure to register separately for the picnic – bring your own lunch and bev.

Also Cheryl Taskey has two 14.5 ft touring kayaks that others can use – contact Cheryl.
There are restrooms at the back of the parking lot.
Difficulty:
Distance (approx. 6 miles) This is a Level 1+ trip due to distance and is open to paddlers of all skill levels and sit-in or sit-on-top kayaks. Kayaks should have deck lines and/or grab loops, as well as sealed bow and stern flotation.
Although any boat or skill level is welcome we'll be taking the park's kayak trail to Palma Sola Bayou, which is a well-protected route from weather, but beginner kayakers may find to be a bit far (6+ miles round trip – given attendance, the group can split into two).
See the
Skills Self Assessment Chart
.
Given this time of year, there is always an eye on the weather.
