TRIP LEADER: Nick Von Poser (727-698-0708, nvposer@gmail.com)
DESCRIPTION: Any paddlers out there want to join me on a 13.5 mile paddle clockwise from the Dunedin Causeway to the northern 3 Rooker sand bank then return?
Wind is forecast to be 9 kt NE and a rising tide until 2:33 PM. The first part of the paddle we could keep to the Gulf side of Honeymoon for a bit of wind shadow protection and then take a break and stretch our legs at the Northern Rooker. On the way back we would get a bit of a push back down the Sound to the Causeway.
LOCATION/SCHEDULE: Dunedin Causeway beach just west of the High and Dry Grill. Meet at 8:30 a.m., launch at 9:00 a.m.
DIFFICULTY: Level 3 due to distance of about 13.5 miles, sea state of 1/2 ft, and wind of 9 kt NE at 10 a.m. decreasing to 6kt NE at 2 p.m.
REQUIREMENTS: At least 15 ft. kayak with bulkheads, sunscreen, water, full spray skirt, snack. Check TBSK Skill Self Assessment Chart to make sure you qualify for a Level 3 trip. For any questions or concerns, contact trip leader.
