Trip title: Sunset Beach to Three Rooker Bar – Level 2

Description: We will paddle from Sunset Beach, Tarpon Springs to the north end of Three Rooker Island. There we can take a break for a snack and maybe do some roll practice. Weather forecast is a pleasant 72 F. Wind is predicted for 6 KT N at 10:00 AM shifting to 6 KT NW at 1:00 PM. If time permits we could paddle around the southern Rooker before heading back to the launch point.
Total distance – ~8 miles
Low Tide 5:05 AM (0.04’), High Tide 11:46 AM (2.01’), winds forecast at 6 knots at 10:00 AM shifting to 6 knots NW at 1:00 PM.
Location: Sunset Beach Boat Ramp, 1800 Gulf Rd., Tarpon Springs
Schedule: Wednesday March 20, 2024. Meet at 9:00 AM and launch at 9:30 AM.
Additional information: Public restrooms are available .
Difficulty: 2 for distance and open water paddle
Required / suggested / restricted: Kayaks 15’ or longer. PFD worn, Water, sun protection, and sunscreen recommended. A snack and dry bag or garbage bag for any island or water cleanup during the adventure would be great!
