Nick and Dave just arrived back in Florida this week and are looking forward to getting our boats wet. Heard there is a new cut created by Hurricane Idalia at Pelican Cove, let's check it out! The meet is at the standard launch spot on the Dunedin Causeway (just west of the High & Dry Grill). We'll decide then whether to start on the inside or outside and plan to float through that new cut (high tide is 2.4ft @ 11:09). Come join us on this short notice outing.
Meet at 9:00 for a 9:30 launch. Restroom available at the launch. About 7 miles. Current forecast is for light winds and flat water.
As with any time we go out onto open water we are looking for 15 ft or longer boats, no inflatable pfd's, sprayskirt (and you are experienced at "wet exit"), whistle. Of course sun protection, extra water, snack for a brief stop somewhere.
