Trip title: Coffee Pot Bayou to the St. Pete Pier L1.5 with a beach snack/lunch break

Description: We will paddle from coffee pot bayou ramp/park out to the bay and head south to the St. Pete pier. We will paddle by a protected bird sanctuary along the way. We can then wave to the tourists as we paddle in between the pilings and back around! Level 1.5 due to distance and ability to maneuver kayak well in open water conditions.
Bring a snack/lunch. We can stop on one of the beaches for 20-30 minute break with restrooms available.
Total miles 5-6. Arrive by 9:30am. Launch and paddle from 10am-1:30pm.
Location: Coffee Pot Bayou Park off of 1st street/corner of 30th Avenue North in St. Pete. NOTE* Limited parking so one may have to drop off kayak and park off of 1st street AND NO restrooms at park. So, stop at WaWa or some other nice facility before you arrive;).
Schedule: Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Meet at 9:30am. Launch by 10am. Approximate return 1:30pm.
Additional information: Public restrooms are available enroute when we paddle by Flora Wylie park (1-2 miles), with a beach landing and at our snack/lunch stop.
Difficulty: 1.5 (0.5 added due to distance and open water conditions).
Required / suggested / restricted: Kayaks 14’ or longer. PFD worn with a whistle. Water, sun protection, sunscreen recommended. A snack and dry bag or garbage bag for trash pickup in coffee pot bayou optional. Secure sandals/water shoes required, along with a smile and desire for fun!
