Description: We will paddle from Sunset Beach, Tarpon Springs to the north end of 3 Rooker Island. There we can take a break for a snack and maybe do some roll practice. Weather forecast is a pleasant 76 F. Sea temperature at 77 F. Wind is predicted for SE 7 knots at 9:00 AM and shifting to SW 7 knots at 13:00,
Location: Sunset beach boat ramp, 1800 Gulf Rd., Tarpon Springs
Schedule: Thursday March 16/23, Meet at 9:00 AM and on the water at 9:30 AM. If time and interest permits, we could paddle around the southern Rooker before heading back to the launch point. Which would be approximately 8 miles.
Additional information: Rest rooms are available and trailer launch friendly at the boat ramp.
Difficulty: Level 3. Open water crossing, may be choppy. Red tide warning is LOW (between 10,000 - 100,000 cells /litre Karelia brevis)
Required : (Sea Kayak 15 feet plus, PFD, spray skirt, clothing, sun protection, food and, water.
