Dunedin Causeway to the Northern Spoil Islands - Level 2

We'll launch at the routine Dunedin Causeway spot (just west of the High & Dry Grill) and head under the bridge to check out the northern spoil islands. We'll land at one or more for a stretch break and perhaps some light cleanup. Survey for a spoil TBSK might want to adopt?
Dunedin Causeway, Causeway Blvd, Dunedin is the launch. We get there early enough to not have a problem parking (free). Trailers ok, bathroom nearby. Let's meet at 9:30 to be ready to launch at 10. Return eta 1:30
Open water crossing in St. Joseph Sound along with approx 8 miles distance warrants this as Level 2 paddle. Tide rising with low (-.42') at 8:09 and high (1.92') at 2:32. Water temps typically 65-ish.
You need a 14.5 ft or longer kayak with flotation (bulkheads). Sprayskirt (which assumes you are experienced with wet exits), no inflatable pfd's, whistle. Of course water, sunscreen, snack, etc.
