The Recreational/Level 1 paddle will leave from Crisp Park, 3600 Poplar Street NE, St. Petersburg, following the standard route toward Weedon Island. After making the northward turn and passing under 40th Avenue, the group will continue in the main channel rather than entering the canals and explore what appears to be a somewhat less developed area with mangrove islands.
Please bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. No inflatable PFDs. All sit-inside boats must have flotation.
We were not able to reserve a picnic shelter so bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on. Also, please bring your own food for lunch. TBSK will provide non-alcoholic champagne for a toast to the new year.
If you plan to meet us at Crisp Park just for lunch, you do not need to register - just come on! Paddlers should arrive by water around 11:30 a.m. The address is above. Remember to park your car along Poplar Street NE or the side streets. The paved lot near the boat ramps is reserved for vehicles with trailers.
