For questions contact: Andy Bartley, sailonbear@hotmail.com

Paddlers launching from the Weedon Island kayak launch ramp will meet at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. launch on New Year’s Day, Sunday, Jan. 1, at 1800 Weedon Drive NE, St. Petersburg. We will paddle mostly protected waters, heading south through Bayou Grande and then through the canals, emerging into Placido Bayou and then on to Crisp Park for lunch. Total one-way distance to Crisp Park is 4 miles, round-trip is 8 miles.

We were not able to reserve a picnic shelter so bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on. Please also bring your own food for lunch. TBSK will provide non-alcoholic champagne for a toast to the new year.  Bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. No inflatable PFDs.

If you plan to meet us at Crisp Park just for lunch, you don't need to register - just come on! Paddlers should arrive by water around 11:30 a.m. The address is 3600 Poplar Street NE, St. Petersburg. Remember to park your car along Poplar Street NE or the side streets. The paved lot near the boat ramps is reserved for vehicles with trailers.

Time/Date: 9:30 a.m. Sunday, January 1, 2023, New Year’s Day
