Meet at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at Arrowhead Picnic Area, Fort DeSoto Park, 3500 Pinellas Bayway S., Tierra Verde. (See a map of the park here.) Be ready to launch at 9:30 a.m.
Dave Schmidt will lead this paddle. It could be bumpy crossing Bunces Pass (boat channel) to get to the shallows. Once in shallower waters the group will head over to "Irma Pass", following a path where boats will float. (High tide 1.5 feet at 8:54 a.m., low .63 feet at 2:44 p.m.) There will be a break at the Pass before returning to the picnic.
Boats will need to have bulkheads and paddlers will need to wear spray skirts (which implies you've practiced wet exits before).
