Gators and beer - let's all cheer! Our guest speaker for the September general meeting - Jim Darlington, curator for the St. Augustine Alligator Farm - will be bringing a live alligator! He will share insights and tales about gators in our Florida waterways, and he'll also bring his Chiweenie (interesting combo).
As we all know, it's a rare river trip in our region in which we DON'T see at least one alligator. State parks like Hillsborough and Myakka River are bursting at the seams with these toothy critters. Here's our chance to learn more about this iconic Florida species that's managed to come back from near extinction.
Join us on Tuesday, September 20 at Cage Brewing, located at 2002 1st Avenue South in St. Petersburg. Our general meeting and guest speaker will begin at 7 p.m., but feel free to come early to enjoy food truck fare, beer or other refreshments, and socializing. The outdoor venue is covered, so we'll have protection if it rains. Street parking on Central or on adjacent side streets is likely. Cage does have a side street parking lot, but it only contains seven spaces.
