Description: Meet at 9 a.m. for a 9:30 launch to paddle west on Terra Ceia Bay. We will cut through a mangrove tunnel to enter into Miguel Bay to get over to Tampa Bay. We will stop on Paradise Island beach and take a break for lunch. If tides permit, we will travel in Tampa Bay to Critical Creek and Critical Bayou back to Terra Ceia Bay and our launch location.
Location: We meet off US 19 South of Skyway Bridge; take exit 5 US 19 off I-275. Go approximately 1 mile. The launch site is before the bridge and after the Marathon gas station. 6351 US 19, Terra Ceia, FL, on the right.
Difficulty: This will be a level 2 paddle with a distance of up to 9 mile depending on tide level. Must be able to handle some waves and open water depending on conditions.
Required: Spray skirt and a kayak 16 feet or longer.
