TBSK Training Day and Monthly Picnic - Stroke Refinement

Instructors: Jean Totz, Tom Joseph, Scott Jantz, and Jill Lingard.  Others added as needed to maintain a 2:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

Description:  This will be an "on the go" training as we paddle upstream from Trout Creek Park and back down.  A variety of kayak strokes are useful to propel us efficiently up and down the winding Hillsborough River--forward, sweeps, draws, rudders, etc. Coaches will paddle alongside students and provide feedback on the move.

Location: Trout Creek Park along the Hillsborough River, 12550 Morris Bridge Road in Thonotosassa.

Schedule: Meet at the park at 9 a.m., unload boats and gear, and be ready to launch by 9:30 a.m.  We'll finish up in plenty of time for the TBSK picnic at noon.

Additional information:

• This training is open to all levels of paddlers.
• As usual, participants must wear PFDs.  Spray skirts are also a good idea too, though not mandatory.
