Join us at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 14 via ZOOM to hear our own TBSK member, Dorsey DeMaster, as she shares information about the history of the 1,515-mile Florida Circumnavigational Trail (CT), its volunteers, the first of its kind registry, and CT statistics. Dorsey will wrap up with highlights of her last leg of the CT, completed in August 2021. Learn if a section of the CT or the full trail could be a future paddle for you!
Dorsey is the first female veteran and 34th person to be recognized as paddling Florida’s perimeter, also known as the ‘CT’. In 2018, after 38 years in aviation, Dorsey embraced the sport of kayaking. Since 2018 she earned her ACA L2 certification, completed the CT, and now supports paddlers state-wide as the President of the Florida Paddling Trails Association. She credits her husband of 33 years, Scott, and good friends who share the same passion, as key supporters in her accomplishments.
“When I retired from aviation, I never imagined my life being this much fun and full of magical moments," Dorsey said. "I need to pinch myself on some days.”
