Description: Meet Al Tillson on Sunday October 10th at Picnic Island at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. launch to assist with Tampa Bay Watch’s 28th Annual Fishing Line Island Cleanup.
Monofilament line has great fishing utility, but can take over 600 years to break down and poses serious threats to birds and other wildlife. Other TBW volunteers will clean and recycle whatever we collect.
We’ll do a short paddle of 2–3 miles out and back to the area where we’ll be collecting and maybe do a little additional paddling afterward if there’s interest.
