Description: We'll paddle from Dunedin Causeway over to Caladesi Island then out into the Gulf, either North or South depending on conditions Saturday. Plan to spend some time on the beach, get wet, eat lunch on the beach, and maybe have time for some skills practice before returning to the Causeway not later than 1:00.
Location: Dunedin Causeway just past (west) the kayak rental
Schedule: Saturday, September 4th. Meet at 8:30 and be GONE by 9:00.
Additional information: No charge for parking on the beach, no water connections for boat cleaning.
Difficulty: Level 2, distance about 5 miles, some in open water, may be choppy, must have open water skills (See Skills Self Assessment Chart link below for level assignment.)
Required: Sea kayak at least 15' with water-tight bulkheads, decklines, and spray deck; no inflatable PFDs. Bring lots of water/sports drink, lunch, sunscreen.
