Description: Meet at Emerson Point Park (Palmetto) at 9:30 a.m. We will launch by 10:00 a.m. to circumnavigate Snead Island (Emerson Point Park). Participants should be comfortable in open water and capable of paddling 8 miles. We plan to be back at the launch site by 2:00 pm at the latest.
Location: Our launch site will be near the Emerson Point Park picnic pavilion / information center. Turn left into the first parking lot inside the park and proceed down the road on the right side of the parking lot to the picnic pavilion / information center. It's approximately 50 yards from the picnic pavilion / information center parking lot to the water.
What to Bring: Lunch, water, sunscreen, and a kayak cart if you have one.
Additional information: Limited to kayaks 16 ft. or longer with waterproof hatches. Please be sure to register on the web site in case of a change in plans or launch site.
Difficulty: Level 2. Intermediate, due to distance of 8 miles.
