Description: We’ll meet at the boat ramp at Miss Maggie’s Campground at 8:45 to be on the water by 9:15 for a paddle on this COOL clear river. We’ll visit several of the source springs and plan to get wet at “The Crack” before stopping on the river bank to enjoy whatever lunch/snack you decide to bring with you. This will be a relatively easy paddle, but expect to travel about 5 miles. The idea is to enjoy the river, stay cool, and see the wildlife in this unspoiled Florida river.
Location: Miss Maggie Campground, parking fee is $5. The Campground is at the end of FL Rte480, well south of Homossassa.
Schedule: September 18 - meet at 8:45, paddle by 9:15 and plan to be back to the launch by 1:30.
Difficulty: This paddle is open to all TBSK members and guests at Level 2 or higher. Distance will be about 5 miles (See Skills Self Assessment Chart link below for level assignment)
Required: All boats welcome but must wear PFD. Bring plenty of Water/Sports Drink and lunch/snack. Sunscreen and consider insect repellent.
