Julian Lane Park Re-Opening Celebration - Level II

The Julian Lane Park on the Hillsborough River, up river from Univ. of Tampa, is having it's grand re-opening this weekend and TBSK is invited.

This trip is led my Andy & Mary     (sailonbear@hotmail.com)   The plan is to launch from Davis Island beach (by the sea plane basin), paddle up the Hillsborough River to observe the park from the river.  If possible, get out on the dock (the dock height is one foot above the water) and look around and enjoy the festivities.  On the return we will paddle past Harbor Island before returning to the take-out and perhaps a late lunch at the pizza place on Davis Island.   Fun for all!

Paddle Difficulty:  This is rated a Level II for distance (8 to 10 miles) and rough water.  Once we enter the mouth of the Hillsborough River, on this Saturday there will be lots of power boats churning up the water - so you will need good bracing skills.
