Hot Topics on Sharks: ID, Attacks, & Management, featuring Brent Winner from Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission
Brent Winner, fisheries scientist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), will be the speaker at the May 9th monthly meeting of Tampa Bay Sea Kayakers. The meeting, open to all, begins at 7 p.m. at Bill Jackson’s Shop for Adventure, 9501 US Hwy 19 N in Pinellas Park.
Winner will discuss HOT topics on Sharks: Identification, Attacks, and Management. He has worked at the FWC for 27 years and has served on the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's Shark Technical Committee the past ten years. He has participated in many cooperative shark studies and research cruises including aboard OCEARCH vessel's "Expedition Jacksonville 2013".
